Luke 6:38

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

In this passage Jesus is teaching His disciples (vs. 20). We are to have a loving and giving heart, not in word, but in deed. Jesus gave Himself, He gave His body, His blood, His life for us. He died for us, in our stead, He took our place. He gives the gift of eternal life. The Lord is a giver. In this present world where many are self-centered, selfish, and want others to give to them, and some demand 'their rights' be given them, there is yet a people that are givers. There are religious organizations that sell many products, books, CD's, etc. Yet there are some of the Lord's churches that depend on the Lord for His provisions and they provide Bibles, study booklets, Bible study courses, Bible lessons on cassette tapes and charge nothing for these. May we have the attitude of giving, showing forth the love and the giving and caring of the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in Him. Truly, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35).
